Meet the Team - Tim - Aftersales Manager
Tim began his career with Yeovil Audi in 2011, and this October will mark 14 years with the business, a journey that has seen him progress from Parts Manager to his current role as Aftersales Manager.
With over two decades of experience in the motor industry, including eight years with a different brand, Tim has developed an in-depth understanding of every corner of the aftersales world.
“I’ve been lucky enough to do almost everything apart from physically fixing the cars,” Tim reflects. “Parts, service advising, workshop control, job card prep, warranty, recalls, just to name a few. That breadth of experience means I understand the processes behind the role, not just the title.” For Tim, what sets Audi apart is the customer base. “Audi customers usually know what they want. They’re decisive and if you’re factual and transparent, interactions are clear and straightforward.”
When it comes to his favourite Audi model, Tim can’t choose just one. “The Audi SQ5 is the perfect family car: comfort, space, ride height, and that unmistakable sound. But the Audi RS 6 is something else: bold, powerful, and exciting.”
Interestingly, despite his long automotive career, Tim doesn’t describe himself as a petrolhead. Instead, his passion lies in process and people. “I get real satisfaction from seeing systems work smoothly, improving how we operate, and supporting the team. I care deeply about communication and about creating the right environment for both customers and staff. If the team’s happy, the customers feel it too.” That people-first approach extends to nurturing talent. One of Tim’s proudest achievements has been seeing apprentices and technicians he’s mentored gain top-level certifications. “When an apprentice you’ve supported achieves a distinction, it’s a huge moment. Not just for them, but for all of us. It means they can take that skill anywhere in the world and I get real pride from knowing I’ve played a part in their success.”
Outside of work, Tim describes himself as having a contrasting side. “In the workplace, I’m calm, structured, and focused on people. But when I’m on the football pitch at the weekend, I’m far more competitive and energetic, it’s my way of switching off and finding balance,” he says.
When asked what advice he’d give to someone choosing an Audi, Tim stresses the importance of thinking practically. “So many people come in influenced by the latest news or social media. But the right choice depends on your lifestyle. My advice is always: decide what you want to get out of your car first: comfort, performance, practicality and we’ll help match you with the right Audi.”
For Tim, what makes Yeovil Audi truly special is the atmosphere. “We’ve got a strong team, many of whom have been here for years. It feels like a family and that comes across to our customers. They don’t just see a showroom, they see familiar faces, genuine care, and a warm welcome every time they walk through the door.”
