New Audi Q9: A New Flagship for Space, Luxury and Innovation
Audi has unveiled its largest and most luxurious SUV ever, the all-new Audi Q9. Marking the first time using the Audi Q9 name, this flagship model expands Audi’s SUV range at the very top of the lineup, combining exceptional space, cutting-edge technology and premium comfort in one commanding package.
Designed to redefine the premium SUV experience, the Audi Q9 introduces a host of firsts. Highlights include the third-generation curved digital OLED rear lights, automatic doors, advanced hands-free driving technology, individual electric rear seats and the largest panoramic glass roof ever fitted to an Audi. Paired with sophisticated suspension systems, quattro all-wheel drive and highly efficient powertrains, the Audi Q9 delivers refined performance and confidence across a wide range of driving conditions.
A New Standard for Premium Travel
Commenting on the launch, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said:
“In the future, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ will increasingly be defined by the in-car experience because cars are much more than just a means of transportation. For many of our customers, they are becoming mobile living spaces. That is exactly what the Audi Q9 represents as the new flagship of our portfolio.”
The Audi Q9’s interior has been designed with comfort and flexibility at its core. Seven seats are fitted as standard, making it ideal for families, while an optional six-seat layout creates a more luxurious, business-class atmosphere.
A standout feature is the pair of electrically adjustable individual seats in the second row, offering exceptional comfort for rear passengers. All six seats in the optional configuration can be partially power-adjusted and specified with heating functions, while the front Sports Seat Plus package adds ventilation and massage functions.
Practicality remains a key focus, with all three second-row seats featuring child-seat mounting points and individually folding third-row seatbacks for enhanced versatility.
First-Class Comfort and Convenience
The new Audi Q9 is also the first to feature automatic doors. Supported by extensive sensors and obstacle detection technology, the system allows doors to open and close effortlessly while helping prevent collisions. An electric soft-close function ensures smooth, quiet operation, and the doors can even be controlled remotely via the myAudi app.
Adding to the sense of luxury is the largest panoramic sunroof ever installed in an Audi. Spanning more than 1.5 square metres, the roof comes as standard and can be opened or tilted to flood the cabin with natural light. Optional switchable transparency technology and illuminated glass that synchronises with the vehicle’s ambient lighting further enhance the experience.
Audi’s Largest SUV Ever
With dimensions of 5.31 metres in length, 2.21 metres in width and 1.81 metres in height, alongside a substantial 3.14-metre wheelbase, the Audi Q9 is officially the largest Audi ever produced.
Its bold proportions, upright front design and muscular stance ensure a commanding road presence. You can choose between the standard Advanced specification, featuring a sophisticated, prestige-focused appearance, or the sportier S line version, which adds more dynamic styling cues.
Large alloy wheels of up to 23 inches, strong shoulder lines, prominent roof rails and a spacious cabin design further emphasise the Audi Q9’s blend of luxury and practicality.
Groundbreaking Lighting Technology
The Audi Q9 showcases the latest lighting innovations, including a world-first application of third-generation digital OLED rear lights. The curved 3D OLED elements utilise ultra-thin glass technology, creating a seamless design that follows the vehicle’s silhouette while improving visibility from a wider range of angles.
Audi has also introduced advanced indication projection technology, which projects an animated turn signal graphic onto the road surface at night to enhance visibility for surrounding road users.
At the front, Digital Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED technology deliver highly precise illumination, improved contrast and enhanced safety through advanced light guidance functions.
Efficient Performance with Mild-Hybrid Technology
At launch, the Audi Q9 will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 220 kW (299 PS) and 630 Nm of torque.
Both engines benefit from Audi’s latest MHEV plus mild-hybrid technology, featuring a next-generation powertrain generator capable of contributing up to 18 kW (24 PS) of additional power. An electrically powered compressor provides immediate throttle response, delivering strong acceleration while improving overall efficiency.
Every Audi Q9 comes equipped with an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s renowned quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system as standard.

The new Audi Q9 will be available to order from Audi retailers from the end of July 2026, with first deliveries expected during the fourth quarter of the year.
