Yeovil Audi sponsors Yeovil Town Ladies FC player!
Yeovil Town Football Club, based in Somerset, was founded in 1895 and has a rich history in the lower tiers of English football. The club's notable achievements include reaching the Football League Championship in the 2013-2014 season, marking a historic milestone for the team.
Here at Yeovil Audi, we are very excited to sponsor Phoebe Draper with Yeovil Town Ladies FC for the upcoming season. We met up with Phoebe to find out what this sponsorship means for her and the team!
When did you start playing for Yeovil Town Football Club?
I began playing football for Yeovil Town Football Club in the spring of 2023 after playing for various other clubs in the area.
Tell us more about the history of the girl’s football team.
Yeovil Town Women's team was disbanded in 2018 after playing at the top level of women's football. In January 2023, they rebranded and launched trials for a reserve team and a first team for the 2023/24 season.
Yeovil Women’s First Team is currently first in their league and has been unbeaten with high hopes for a quick rise in the league. Yeovil Town Reserves are also currently top of their league and have only lost one game.
Due to the club being disbanded, we have had to start from the beginning. With the team’s determination, it won't be long before we're back where we belong! I am very proud to announce that I am Vice Captain of the team, and I look forward to celebrating all our future victories.
What do you love about playing football?
I used to play football with my brothers while growing up, so it has brought me many great memories. Playing football is a great escape and is also an enjoyable way for me to socialise.
What position do you play in football?
My position is Centre Mid. I have always played this position in football as I enjoy feeding the ball and always being on the move.
Is football a hobby for you or something you would like to pursue in the future as a career?
Football is a hobby that I always want to have in my life. It is an escape for me, and I look forward to seeing what the future of the team brings.
What does Yeovil Audi’s sponsorship mean for you and the team?
We are very grateful for Yeovil Audi’s sponsorship. It means a lot for a professional business to help support our women’s football team, and it really helps increase the team spirit and motivation.
My personal vehicle is an Audi, and I am very passionate about the brand. The treatment I received when purchasing my Audi was great, and everyone I have dealt with throughout the business has been very helpful and informative. This makes the sponsorship even more meaningful.
